Welcome to our new home!

Follow below as we walk you through our new state of the art animal hospital and explain the thoughtful design of our new home.

1. Separate cat and dog waiting room areas.

We know trips to the hospital can be stressful, for humans and their pets alike. At Careport Animal Hospital, we have spent many years caring for animals of all demeanours and we understand that when your pets come to see us, we want to make their visit as stress-free as possible.

This experience has led us to create separate spaces for canine and feline care within our facility. Upon entry, you'll notice the separate dog and cat waiting areas. This was purposefully designed to promote peace of mind for both you and your pet the minute you walk in our door. We also have separate cat and dog wards for any pets who stay in our hospital.

2. Separate cat and dog exam rooms.

When a doctor takes care of you, it’s a highly sensory experience — this is especially true for our furry friends who, as we know, have senses that can make ours seem rather mundane. That’s why our new hospital was designed with separate cat and dog exam rooms, allowing the best opportunity possible for you and your pet to relax while our team focuses on giving care and attention.

3. Cat exam rooms feature our “cat cubby”.

Cats can be curious creatures. It’s one of the many things we love about them. But, it can be challenging for them to come into an environment like ours and feel at ease.

That’s why we have specially-designed cat rooms, featuring our “cat cubbies”: a cutout in the counter where cats can hide out and play like they would in their natural environment— or simply curl up in a blanket to feel more comfortable.

4. In-floor radiant heating in our animal wards for added warmth and comfort.

The comforts of home can be hard to come by when visiting a place like a hospital. That’s why we’ve gone the extra mile and added in-floor radiant heating to not only make our facility more welcoming for our furry friends, but also to provide added comfort and warmth for them, for the duration of their stay.

5. A compassion room that feels like home and not so much like a hospital.

Saying good-bye is never an easy thing— and we want you to cherish every last moment with your furry family member as if you were in your own home.

Our compassion room is designed with emotion and comfort in mind. At every turn, you will find key amenities that promote thoughtfulness and empathy. Like soothing music on its own dedicated channel. Or, a side door that allows you to privately exit the building without having to interact with anyone as you leave while your emotions may be running high.

6. Calming music is played in the animal wards to help lower their stress during their stay.

It’s been well-documented that calming sounds and gentle music can help relieve stress in humans and animals alike. Our wards are filled with soothing sounds to ensure your pet has the best possible chance to relax and recover to the fullest extent while they are staying with us.

7. A wide selection of prescription diets and other pet products.

Once your pet has received the care they need, we want to ensure you leave the hospital set up for success and long term health. We take pride in stocking a wide selection of prescription diets and other pet products we would use with our own pets. Our hospital is conveniently located in the Grasslands commercial development, home to many other amenities, which makes us a quick stop to re-stock while you’re out and about running other errands.

8. A spacious treatment area with curtains in between the tables.

No one likes to be crowded, or feel like all eyes are on them during any type of treatment— and that includes our pets. This is why our treatment areas have been designed with curtains and plenty of space between tables, allowing for room to breathe and relax.

9. Dedicated dental & surgery suites.

You don’t go to the doctor’s office to have your teeth cleaned and neither should your pet. Our dental suite allows for the dedication and focus on your pet’s oral health that will have them receiving the type of treatment that ends with a smile on everyone’s face.

10. Every square foot is designed to invite natural light.

Our pets adore the outside— and most of us don’t mind it either! Our facility has been designed with the calm effects of natural light in mind. Everywhere you look, you are put at ease with windows that take your mind anywhere but a hospital. This feeling extends throughout the building, including in our animal wards.

11. Separate ventilation systems for cats and dogs.

Our pets have a very heightened sense of smell and to some cats and dogs it can be very stressful to even smell another species, let alone see them. Our exam rooms and animal wards are on separate ventilation systems to minimize pheromone (species-specific hormone) transfer between cats and dogs. The end result, less stress for everyone.
